Im not sure what to look for as far as scams go.

We had 2 separate attorneys reveiw our files and they both ran their own background checks and they both said that we did nothing wrong, we got scammed.

Some plumbers scammed her for 4K.

People are not simply going to trust you just because you have a sign on your car, or a T-shirt that says "No really, I won't  scam you no please please please believe me I am begging you".That sign or T, just gets you noticed.

These days it is riddled with scams from my experience.

LOLNot for me because I was fortunate enough to read Rich Dad Poor Dad and understand what scam the rat race is from a young age. 

Meaning, they may have been ideal, your screening might have been great but life happened to them and assuming they are telling the truth about the medical condition (and this isn't part of their pro scam) then this sounds like a life happens event.
