Hello - after being around various facets of the real estate industry for most of my life, I'm looking to take the plunge as an investor.

If someone who is new makes a post of almost any kind they get a bunch of responses "congratulating" them for "taking the plunge"........ making a post on BP is not taking the plunge, neither is reading a book or listening to a podcast.

Convince me why I should take the plunge and become a landlord at this time.

I will reassess.I have to admit, if I get laid off before I reach the point of debt paydown I want to be at, I might just take the plunge early and not look for another W-2 job!

I took the plunge into REI about a year and a half ago, and recently purchased on contract my 6th SFH.

@Seth GerberUnless my tenant had an actual GC license, they aren’t going to be doing any repairs more complicated then plunging a toilet.
