@Richard Balsam I cant figure out how to get this picture right side up, but you can see how the line on the ceiling from the fireplace to the center wall slopes downward a couple inches.  

howdy BP'erswe have a house we are rehabbing (flipping) in Denver that has two fireplaces, the upstairs has a working gas log set up from the 50's, cute but probably not terribly efficient. the basement has a fireplace with a gas pipe stubbed to the fireplace that is currently a wood fireplace. we are thinking of keeping the downstairs FP as wood burning. the question is what to put in the upstairs fireplace. tell us your thoughts:gas insert ?

I'll try to post those too.Zillow says this house is 5 beds 2 baths 1,526 sqft but actually has 3 beds (possible 4 beds) with fireplace, pool and RV Gate in Mesa AZ.

Large ensuite master bedroom with all the modern luxuries including a fireplace, window seat, and spa-like bathroom.

Thinks like break-ins or them being careless (say, on the stairs or misusing the fireplace and burning the place down) would be what I'm most concerned about.

Fireplaces are closed off and off limits as well.

It features a fireplace and a large front porch, central air, built 1942.
