Arguably the worst corner in the whole city is 38th and post Your house is about two blocks from there.

There is also a duplex 1-2 blocks away from the subject property that sold for 380k (4/2/2).

My understanding is that short term rentals are not permitted on this block because of zoning code. 

They didn't know what they were doing and they weren't malicious.

Especially in philly or any Other densly populated area that changes from lofts to ghetto just by crossing one road, zoomIng out behond anything on that block Is pointless.
