your comment around "approvals will be easy to get" gives me pays if you've not done this type of project before, I understand your logic, and I don't know your local municipality but it always seems to me that no matter how easy we think a project or approval is going to be, something always comes up.

Would love to learn the process, but don't know how much value I can provide as my time is eaten up by a newborn. 

You would need to do a detailed write up of both you and your brothers situation to get any useful info from here.

@Chris Seveney I for some reason recall when I lived up north in some locations heat went out and if it was longer than a specific peroid of time it would deem the unit uninhabitable - but I absolutely have been wrong in the past.

I wasn't really sure how it would pop up, but don't see a reason to risk things and complicate my cash-out.

Looking forward to connecting, sharing ideas, and soaking up as much knowledge as possible!

The projects finished up and we are super happy with the results.
