Self-certifications are subject to an audit by the city.

I have a engineer report stating foundation is good, I have a certificate from a mold company stating there was no mold when they inspect it and of course I have their inspection report from their inspector.

I've had a mold remediation certification for more than 30 years and did many remediation jobs and on many occasions tenants and customers are seriously crazy and 100% impossible to make them believe that everything is okay.

Instead of the declarations page, the new agent can provide a Certificate of Insurance detailing when the new policy was put into force.

Being listed as a "certificate holder" is not the same as being added to their policy as an additional insured.  

It screens out a lot of scammers with certificates purchased online.
