Does anyone have experience investing in the Hudson Valley, NY (Kingston, Stone Ridge, Woodstock, Catskill,  Saugerties, Etc...)

We're part of a group that owns 41 units in East Ridge. 

Also, if your cutting on a miter saw and it's backwards (ridges facing in), stick a piece of scrap molding behind it so it doesn't cut at a vertical slant.Also, it's really common for miter saws to be off.

I have used Ridge, but not this product.  

However, for occupancy the dahlonega and Helen strs seem to be fairing better than ellijay, blue ridge is solid but higher price points.

Note; paper underlayment will be cheapest, but it's cheap for a good reason, and it's not its robust life expectancy...The strapping you mentioned is a slight added cost, but if done properly (vents at the eve/drip edge and ridge), can actually help lower inside attic or top-floor temperatures, as you now have an "air gap" to help alleviate some of the penetrating UV heat, as well as helping to drain and dry condensation that WILL form on the backside of a metal sheathing.

I recently bought one in Cherry Log mountain (5 miles from Blue Ridge) and by recent i mean i closed last friday.

Maybe instead of a full rebuild, have you thought about just a modernization of it's look.I did a mockup of Hardie board, a porch with a trendy standing seam metal porch roof, new doors and windows, architectural shingles, roof ridge vents, and stone cladding around the foundation.The house looks small and it's only one story, have you thought about teaching yourself to put on the Hardie board and save same money.But there is a lot of extra land, and the neighbors houses do look a lot bigger though.Decisions, decisions.Just my 2 cents.
