Hello!

I'm just starting out on my REI adventure, and I am interested in the North Georgia area. For those who currently own in the market? How is it fairing with STRs. I'm looking for a mountain area where the cost of entry is not astronomical, where I can also have it serve as a vacation home. I heard the market there was on fire in 2021, but wondering if those who purchased an STR during that time frame have seen a significant cooling/slowing down of STR occupancy in the time you've been up and running?

Hi Sequoia,
We own three vacation rentals in the Blue Ridge area and are doing very well.  We just went live on our third this month, and our other two are on pace to gross $270k combined for the year.  The rental market has slowed some, but if you can get a property that has great views or is on water, you will do just fine.  We have also found that renters are looking for upgraded amenities, the standard run of the mill cabin doesn't cut it anymore.  My wife is an agent who specializes in STR in the area...the prices are coming down and the inventory is low, but there are definitely properties out there that will cashflow.  DM me if you have any more questions.

Best of Luck,
Neil
