That is not to say that you can't do minor things such as fix a light switch; however, if there is drywall to be patched or flooring that needs to be replaced you cannot consider it in service.

Storage is always an issue for renters and again they dont look like they are in bad condition but just need to be updated with paint.rip the wall down in the kitchen, patch the floor and ceiling where needed. ($100) paint the kitchen cabinets yourself. take the doors off and the hinges off to paint them right.

When all was said & done, we had to replace all of the carpet, a refrigerator, microwave, patched several holes in the walls, hauled a garage full of trash away, had to pressure wash the stench out of the garage & repainted 70% of the interior.

Whether you choose to hire a professional or have a handyman type will determine pricing on labor.The uneven flooring it's hard to say because the cause of that unevenness might be really cheap or really expensive to repair.Painting entire house would depend on the age of the house and if you are dealing with lead paint for EPA guidelines and also if the walls have cracks and need patching etc. before paint work to refinish.The bathroom as well you might plan on updating but because of age you find many aspects of it have to be replaced driving costs up.
