Some challenges we have faced are bringing electrical up to code (if you change so much as an outlet or light fixture, it's a requirement in my state) and house settling that makes all flooring except for carpet a challenge (contractors will want to put in all new sub-floor or they can't promise their work will not be without many issues).Hopefully, your foundation is good.

and I fix it myself myself.I only recommend this for people who have the time to do it, are handy, and are not afraid of the possibility that a defective light switch could result in adopting a kitten or checking a fence for evil paper wasps could obligate a sibling to adopting a evil Malaysian Tokay Gecko that was not evil enough to deserve death from an unusually cold Florida winter.Being a landlord has had a few completely unexpected consequences lol.

Hello,I have a finished basement with all the needed egress/outlets and I am considering it to convert it into an apartment and there are few areas (kitchen exhaust and kitchen sink) I lack understanding  and would like to better understand what is the best possible way to go about making those changes.I will greatly appreciate if someone can share their experiences on how they went about a setting up a kitchen particularly exhaust for kitchen odors and kitchen sink in a basement
