We reached out to the department head, and seemed enthusiastic about offering this opportunity to a responsible student who wants to get some experience make some money while they are in school. 

I have been a real estate enthusiast for many years and have experience in purchasing and rehabbing my own home. 

It will probably take some work to get to the right person and even then they might not be too enthusiastic to help you.

Clint, no, this is not my reputation, what I am saying is times and events predicate the needed resolution, if this is one home of mine and this is part of a small cohort of homes lets say (6), maybe I would be more emotional about it, maybe if I was newer or more novice I would be more enthusiastic of making hell around this issue, but the question boils down what is the best and most cost-effective use of your time.

A new agent normally doesn't have the experience and contacts to perform at the level of an experienced, ethical and enthusiastic broker.
