The catch is you have to live and work in Newark or one of the eleven contiguous border sharing towns like Maplewood, Kearny, East Orange etc. 

I spent time living on the NH/VT border (Hanover, NH) and I know these types of general stores.

According to www.ADT.com/crime, the crime rates there are well below average.I'd avoid the areas that border Brockton though. 

If they are charging you for access to those people then it is bordering on a scam, but that is my opinion.

I send an letter with detailed disposition of deposits and deductions.Now they are upset I charged them too much (although I could forfeit it I guess completely) and use words as bullying and other stuff that seems bordering with legal.Any thoughts?

Where to invest all depends on your goals- especially in Philly where you have some hard borders that can define whether you should flip or rent or both in that specific pocket. 

I don't think that real estate is much different across the border.

I lived in rio grande valley, tx and saw the companies across the border that have moved there.
