I know there are a couple investments (GM Factory Zero and GM Lake Orion, Ford Battery facility) but it seems a lot of the auto manufacturing is moving to other states/countries, and these investments are merely replacing other facilities.

The good news is that it makes it easier to customize a solution that fits your unique situation though.We decided to base ours on Zwave due to longer battery life (since we are remote) and the ability to add other devices to the same network.

There's also a battery powered trim nailer (ryobi one) which is convenient because then you don't have to mess with air compressors.

I go in, change the air filters, replace smoke alarm batteries occasionally, I check for leaks under every sink.

That said as my batteries started to die I have switched over to the Milwaukee platform as they had more options at the time.

Main benefit of z-wave is better battery life which sounds amazing for remote managing a property but you’ll end up having to do extra work to load guest codes and have limited functionality depending on the z-hub you choose.
