The big difference is feeling uncomfortable at family functions if a deal goes poorly.

Paying 2500 to have someone order carpet and a handyman for a day makes me uncomfortable.     

It certainly makes you uncomfortable putting that much down, but if you are serious its not a big deal.

I agreeJon Holdman , I would really be uncomfortable with giving a stranger that type of access to my property.
