Old me paid them off and retired early from a soul sucking W2 job.

In some cultures it just takes opening a window to let a soul exit freely. :)

That's my personality.It takes a little soul searching (and tests like the ones I recommended) to become clear on your strengths and what resonates with your personality.

Expensive stuff like my trucks I buy used, cars for my wife are usually new and inexpensive (Kia Soul, $16k out the door 6 years ago).

I've listened to enough escapist fantasies to learn to hate all the empty, vapid, corrosive, soul-sucking dreams of something for nothing attached to those dirty little tickets.This thread has served to remind me yet again of how few people come from a broke childhood to real estate investing as a way to build lasting wealth and find financial independence for their families, of how incredibly fortunate I am, and how grateful I should be to those who have helped me along the way.

My guess is that those that are all for “cracking heads” have never been in a black place themselves..... it is not as simple as “if they wanted to work they would”...People need help.... and while yes, one has to decide to chnage, if you have forgotten how to do life differently, if you have an addiction knawing at your soul, or a mental illness etc... it is not that simple. 

Conversely, that ex Seal may be terrified of public speaking, but the timid soul may feel at home on a stage.
