I am thinking about buying a duplex, fixing it up, living in one unit while renting out the other.

He was quoted in a recent Wall Street Journal article about one of the mentorship programs.

It’s one of those situations where the fine print can really bite you if you're not careful.From what I read in the Wall Street Journal a while back, a lot of these deals tend to come down to relationships.. having a good banker who understands the value of your policy is key.

I house-hacked a duplex in Southern Orchards next to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

I had to upgrade the waterlines to 3/4 (ripping out the wall, retiling) and replace the drain line with metal pipe, (dig up floor, plumb, concrete, retile).  

I work with mostly multifamily investors, and I currently own 2 duplexes.

If you have experience in larger multifamily and if your funds are somewhat limited, then I would recommend a duplex to 4 unit.

Can someone check my rehab estimate on this duplex?
