Portland's reputation as a food/drink destination is making for strong year-round STR business (Maine is typically known for seasonality in this regard). 

Cost of living is too high for what you get.2) 10,000 people per day are turning 65 and retiring, and Arizona is the #2 retirement destination in the US.

West is Destin.

Most people if they could see exactly how much work was involved & where the destination would be would do nothing! 

Tampa is becoming a big destination for Tech companies believe it or not.

One reason that I am leaning towards one area in particular is that it seems the ski area itself is looking to be a 12 month destination.
