If it is attainable for you then this is a family heritage that you will be building, not just a property.Otherwise, the finances and not the emotion should take precedence and I would agree with everyone esle about renting.

While this house is both in the national and provincial registries of heritage places, it is not designated as a protected historic property by the city (surprisingly).
