I've always been intrigued by the creativity behind different types real estate deals and decided to start by getting my license and join a small brokerage in Provo, UT (I'll be active as soon as my fingerprints clear.. hopefully it doesn't take too long) and I'll be able to hit it full time in a few months after my corporate job winds down.

For the exact scenario you described, you would technically have broken your promise made at the closing table before the notary who took your fingerprints, according to my non-lawyer unqualified opinion.

I will say that in about a 4 month period, I have already invested about $1,000 towards getting my license (Pre-licensing course, test fees, new licensing fees, finger printing fees, office fees, MLS dues, Realtor dues, ect.)

Recently, I took the course again online and was able to get my fingerprints taken at a Pearson Vue location in Tampa and am supposed to wait until I get my results to be able to take the exam.It's been about 3 weeks now.
