We found a chain-saw, a shovel, paint cans, broken shutters, pieces of a treadmill, a bicycle, landscaping debris, etc.  

First of all, thank you to: @Al Williamson for the suggestion on having bicycles, and his never-ending quest to increase income for landlords (although this time, I did “raise rents.”).

Is Oceanside good for people approaching their 50s with regard to bicycling, variety of food and basically an active lifestyle?

This week I:- Adjusted the seat height of the bicycle I rent to my short term renter.

During that period I would bicycle through neighborhoods near my apartment, navigate around the occasional (occupied) but unattended body bag to look at abandoned industrial space that I could have picked up for $30/sf.  

Our large front porch was a depository for bicycles.

I can make it downtown via bicycle without touching a road for more than 2 minutes faster than anyone can in a car during rush hour.  

This is AFTER a bicycle accident that prevented me from moving to the area I had already bought 5 properties.

Jay Barry Harris was hit by a car while riding his bicycle and a month later died from his injuries in June 2016.

If all you have is time on your hands, you can learn a lot from traveling neighborhoods on foot, bicycle or in car.
