The vast majority of contractors won't want to give bids on properties while under contract unless they have a relationship with that person from prior jobs.

@Marc Zak Using an LLC for each property provides strong liability protection by isolating risks to individual assets, with income and expenses flowing through to your personal taxes on Schedule E.

@Ben Callahan, you could find a partner who is looking to buy a similar property, be a co-signer to your partner, and have that person live in it and be a primary resident. 

Office space is gutsy at this time with many companies working remotely, maybe part of your investment was to bet that people will be coming back to work in person.
