I have a guy I can call who will pick up anything metal for free including appliances, water heaters, rusted out metal sheds, and other random metal that tenants leave behind.I have no interest or time to scrap these things myself.

Also they tend to shed snow cleanly as compared to shingles which might 'weep' the melting snow, re freeze, and then create an Ice Dam which can do damage to not only the siding, but to the insulation and ceilings.
