They generally have lists they can refer to.It's never 100% accurate because repairs on a newly bought building can quickly cascade into larger projects depending on what they find when they are on site.

Having accurate figures will enable you to make informed decisions.

On every project I have worked on a site plan is required, the only way to generate an accurate site plan is to base it on a survey.
