Tile backsplash and floor, color on walls, beautiful cabinets for the price, moulding, and changed out light.

Then we completed a large herringbone tile backsplash in the kitchen and added marble-looking laminate counters.

If I reset the base cabinets , I have to re do the waste lines , and deal with the tile backsplash .

Personally I like to open up floor plans, fluff up the kitchens and baths with nice tile (showers, backsplashes), granite, stainless appliances and other touches people notice (bathroom niches, wine racks, soft close cabinets).

We only paid 2,000 for a privacy fence because the company that put the fence in messed it up...so although we have some gaps in our fence it was half price.  3,500 for interior improvements including painting, plumbing fixtures, new dishwasher, vinyl plank flooring, some new baseboards, kitchen backsplash, and bathroom floor (peel and stick groutable tiles). 

When we put up a task (e.g. demo and install backsplash) we would put a level of effort next to it on the whiteboard (1.5 days).

Also-- do a peel and stick back splash-- makes a huge difference and is cheap!
