I think there will always be room for STRs, but in true vacation destinations that rely heavily on tourism.

Cocoa Beach allows short term rentals and you have the tourism from the beach, multiple space programs, close to Orlando...

So the investors are from Vietnam. 

Expensive market but cash flow is more than worth it; and as the world opens up a little more over the coming year the data suggests tourism in the area will explode (on top of how busy it already is from the lower mainland)...I can also tell this is true from how booked out we are (almost fully) from Dec - Mar already this coming winter. 

I'm not personally familiar with the area, but I suggest CrimeGrade, Neighbordhood Scout, and searching "top/best things to do/attractions/destinations/places to see" in Michigan or that area to see if there's potential for tourism/STR :) you could also check out if there's universities for student housing or hospitals for MTRs.

The city and residents voted in favor of the "Community Corridor" design which is by far the way to go to increase tourism and "trendiness".

There is amazing food, tourism with the Cowboys practice facility shops etc.
