Thank you for your honest outlook of what the future of the bay area housing market will look like in the near future.I think your comment about my friend is correct. 

I have not got an estimate on repairs, I live in Arizona so I have not made it to that area yet.My plans are to fly out look over the property get a few estimates on repairs.Do you think I should spend the money to fly out myself and inspect this property or should I just call around to have people give me estimates from out of state?

@Joel C.it would interesting to know more on your outlook on investing in Chicago while based in TX. while i agree with most that have mentioned above - there are beneficial and lucrative deals still around.

Once you have that figured out, look for that niche on the BP forums, read as many threads that interest you and start asking questions.

You should do some research on the politics of those mining co's so you can get more comfortable with what the outlook might be for the stability of Price and Helper, and those mines.
