We are starting to change our thinking and are debating purchasing condo with cash just to gain the advantage among the competition, and then immediately turning around and doing a cash out refi to pull the money back out.

However after further consideration I conclude the following:1) you’re not a youngster just coming out of college, you’re a seasoned successful physician, you should be beyond worrying about their negative comments2) it’s understandable that people who presumably care about your welfare are concerned when you tell them you’re going to leave medical practice, that profession is considered among the most desirable to attain3) they’ll come around when they see it’s working4) change the topic if you don’t like where the conversation’s going, your convictions are your convictions and not everyone will understand

It might mean we chose differently than most, it might mean we're a bit more risk tolerant than most; but we're also still among the same group of people you're talking about above - who hated working for someone else and started looking for a different path.I just happen to believe that with proper planning and an exit strategy, most investors could realize a true freedom (meaning NOT WORKING) that they haven't yet seen (or don't realize is waiting there for them) through this process just as many others get "stuck" in the cycle.If you and others are 100% fulfilled by the art of the deal and want to continue doing if full time forever that's great for!
