You can get the "feel" for the area that way before you decide to purchase a flight ticket.

Also a family who can afford a SFR in theory is less likely to flight by night, be late on rent, destoy things.

LOL I am being totally facetious.When it comes to pooled or PPM type investments the sponsor is the critical component.. how many deals.. are you as the investor going on the maiden Voyage and therefor taking some risk ..Sometimes major risk.Sponsor's in these deals is THE critical component.. 

I would think it would be cheaper to just take a flight or drive and buy on your own, find your own PM.

It is working out pretty well all in all, since I am almost always on line even when I am on a 5 week bike trip across Europe, except on a long flight to Asia or Africa or on safari with no internet.No one will manage the way you want them to- just silly things like putting 2 little bottles of conditioner in the toiletry basket instead of one shampoo and one conditioner, or checking to see if some places in the yard were cleaned that might not be on the normal checklist but because of recent weather you think there might be a problem.
