The development is close to a Simon shopping mall, new medical centers and hospitals, employment centers, places of worship and interstate route 69. 

I think you'd be pretty safe buying anything close to hwy 280 or interstate 65 south that you could find and do some work to in order to up your equity.

I would also attend a few of your local REIAs to network and see what they are intersted in!

My dad networks with multifamily investors, and he says there's growth from San Antonio to Austin, especially along Interstate 35, around San Marcos, etc.

Great town, great schools, right off of the interstate.

It's also fairly easy to get to the interstate.

That's already a pretty intersting dynamic.

I personally probably wouldn't invest there, but it is interesting.Lafayette is growing with not only Purdue but several strong manufacturing centers in the area.Ft Wayne is intersting - I grew up there and see a lot of growth every time I visit family.
