Is there any meet ups for aspiring STR hosts and Cohosts in the Tacoma area.

These clubs often host regular meetings, guest speakers, and networking events tailored to investors in the area.By actively participating in these networking opportunities and connecting with other investors, you can learn from their experiences, gain valuable insights into the local markets, and potentially find partners or mentors to support you in your real estate investing journey. 

I feel it is up to the host to do a little bit more vetting.

I recently listened to a podcast on The Landlord Diaries, episode FF86, where they talk about “co-hosting” as a term used to get around this exact thing.

As a Host, you determine, AND list prominently in your description the total booking occupancy.   

If you know you want to get into STRs, find properties in your market or market of interest that are managed by Vacasa and Evolve that are underperforming and have guest feedback indicating the the customer service from the host was poor (as it usually is with the big national STR PMs), look up the owner's name on the county or city tax records, and cold call or text them.

It offers a host of vocational and trade schooling opportunities, and is very connected with the Public School system in the communities.
