You don't need to know everything to get started; you need a foundation to build on, and the rest will come through experience and then refining your education.You can build a basic understanding of investing in 3-6 months.

I understand that most "Dips" don't last that long when you zoom out, as long as I can withstand the storm when it does come, then i'm good.

Get a damage restoration company involved.

Holding properties in an LLC (or other legal entity) can offer valuable protection for your personal assets, so I understand why you went that route.

I understand that rents will go up over time and my mortgage payment will pay down the principal, but it seems like investing the $1.43mil into rental properties and/or a low fee US stock market fund may work out better for me. 

I would assume any halfway intelligent human being would understand we mean "shut and lock" but maybe I assume too much. 

From my understanding they filed for Chapter 11, that would protect them from any creditor action, any foreclosure, etc.

I also listen to his podcast occasionally and he seems to understand the REI business quite well. 

I am not sure what type of real estate investing you're considering, but it sounds like, with your family and busy job, you won't have a lot of time to be hands-on or personally involved. 

Out of state investing involves too many moving parts.
