Well, if someone has the ability to apply the amount and frequency to bring it down to five years.......chances are they have the extra funds anyway and should just apply extra mortgage payments and forget this method.

I'd recommend typing the address into a crime mapping agency (there are several free ones online) and seeing what the police reports are in that area as well as the frequency.
