Is there a way to mentally 'disconnect' from the property while ensuring everything is handled responsibly?

The "line" is the hot wire:Worst case scenario, if you ever run across a place wired with no grounds and are feeling really conscientious, you can replace the two prong outlets with GFCI's (Ground Fault Circuit Interruptors) and leave the ground disconnected, as the GFCI will still operate without a ground wire.

The loose wire will periodically connect and then disconnect at unpredictable times perhaps even "connect" with a small gap that allows the power to flow but requires more of it to complete the connection. 

That's the big disconnect for me right now.

The biggest disconnect is that folks compare household finance to federal government finances and they operate under vastly different rules.

Just that it's disconnected from other asset classes and less volatile.

We live several states away which is why I initially went with a PM but we are struggling and I feel very disconnected from what's going on...

They send an inspector to the house and they will either dis-connect it or they will call the authorities in to arrest the thief.

The disconnect I always had was somehow their cable bill was still getting paid.

Most of the numbers were disconnected but I was able to find a few legitimate numbers.Next was the hardest part… Actually picking up the phone and dialing.
