Hey fellow suburban Illinois BPers - Not sure if this has been sent/shared previously, but thought it'd be good to recap - Chicago Agent Magazine recently reported that suburban Chicago was ranked the second-hottest rental market in the nation (Here’s the article.).This confirms what a lot of us have seen: demand for rentals is really strong in the suburbs right now.

My ultimate goal is to acquire enough real estate to achieve financial freedom, allowing me to travel, provide a comfortable life for my family, and teach my children about discipline, financial literacy, and the wealth-building potential of real estate.I’m here to learn, share, and connect with others who share this passion.

We have had duplexes with shared water, sewer, and trash billing, as well as shared driveways.The long term tenants act more like owner occupants, planting flowers, etc. and in some cases neighbors think that they are the owners.

If (**redacting name of PM co**) Contracting would like to share the actual cost of repairs I'd be open to looking at those numbers as a reasonable cost.

While we focused on his market for ADUs he did share a lot of valuable information that is transferrable to any market.

What I can share is that the risk-reward will not be worth it as a 'newbie' due to your limited capital and inability to actively manage your properties.
