I worked extensively with a big time REI guy here in Tucson and was very hot and heavy to buy my first home but have decided to hold off while the values keep slipping in our area.I still have a very strong interest in securing some properties domestically in the next year or two, specifically income producing properties.Beyond that I am always open to any extra streams of income (legitimate ones) so hopefully I can find some info here on markets I may not have investigated yet.

While I think the author has makes valid point regarding the value of income streams, I found some put downs of traditional methods of investing off putting.That said the coverage of finding and buying a home is great.

If you want money, you must come up with a very solid business plan, where investors can double check your figures.When you start a new business, you are supposed to put some of your own blood sweat, and tears into it.

The state has one of the highest unemployment rates and there were people loosing their homes in 2001-2003.Similar for Charlotte NC and Dallas TX according to Shiller from the Case-Shiller index.Value investors buy value and look for blood in the street along with other buying signs.
