Just be careful not to contaminate the adhesion tabs, and make sure there aren't any nails (from tack strips) or significant existing floor impairments before you go right over the existing (but not carpet;) flooring.

I would use the glue down because if you want to replace a single tile or plank you just use the heat gun to release the adhesive and slap down a new one.
