I would imagine things that are skewed towards whatever holiday is coming up would be big sellers too.  

This influx of workers will naturally drive demand for housing, retail, and other services in the surrounding areas, especially in smaller towns and cities that haven't seen major growth in decades.

This window of opportunity in Austin May end up being short lived, the sidelined buyer demand has been stacking up and the influx of population is never ending.

This will go a long way in creating a network and future sellers and buyers will start to see you as a resource in this arena.

As @Robin Smith mentioned, for assessing demand I used FurnishedFinder.com/stats; you can see demand data for a given city and some pricing data too.

That seems like a lower demand area than any place I would ever invest.   

Under NY state law he cannot now or in the future demand that I move the fence back onto the property line as I now have a legal claim to it. 

Imagine me asking my attorney for $35K worth of free court appearance /advise or a real estate agent to forgo the 6% fees on selling of a home or demanding my property manager give me 20 years of free property management or going to Best Buy every week and coming out with a cart full of electronics good without paying, etc.
