Humanitarian work helping people struggling with mental illness and substance abuse is close to my heart, and if I could make it work as a solid investment as well, I may have to pursue it. 

You may have a very hard time proving how the landlord intentionally meant to cause physical harm to her.... she fell down the stairs while being evicted from the room... that is probably his story...If he went in there saying she had to leave the room or he would use such and such weapon on her.. that is a different story.

Too many people think the only people who are harmed by these frauds are the investors who believe their made-up numbers.

Many state licenses require contractors to provide insurance and a bond that a harmed customer can at least recover. 

The Real estate department would primarily take interest if the public was harmed via a law or rule being broken.

But you were harmed and small claims court is inexpensive and a good education.

I don’t follow the logic…the harm from a bounce is more to me than them, right?

I'm not sure of the answer, but it seems to me that the IRS would challenge this on economic substance.

Same goes for getting drunk on wholesaling, not doing things properly has consequences, the difference is, not only does the wholesaler have a false sense of security, harm themselves at some point, they harm others as well. 

You aren't doing these things solely to drive traffic to your site - you're doing it to build relationships, because these are what can (and will) build a dedicated following over time.There are a lot of people making "noise" on the internet by throwing links all over the place (that nobody is going to click on) and making thoughtless and irrelevant comments. ...but people take notice of those who are actually bringing some substance to the table.
