After putting in about $15k in to the house to "fix it up" ( mainly finishing floors and coating the horse hair plaster) my equity grew but of $40K.  

I do not necessarily want to move back to where I grew up either.

Almost invariably, those individuals say the one's who get it done are those who "jumped in", "grew a pair", or "pulled the trigger".

I grew up in an atmosphere where my family had rentals and so now at 32 I currently have a house and duplex that I rent out here in California.  

As far as Tucker and Lawrenceville, I grew up in Tucker and we have a position in Lawrenceville.

I grew up around property management and we are planning on self managing. 

After seeing it mentioned in multiple places, I decided I better check it out.I grew up in Whitehouse, Texas (small town in East Texas) watching my mom and step dad slowly grow their SFR rental business while both working full time jobs.

Although I don't know a whole lot about the technicals from that time, I grew up seeing the dedication, lifestyle, and opportunities that the right attitude, work-ethic, and drive can bring in the real estate world.

The young eagle grew up with all the other chickens and whatever they did, the eagle did too.
