I was wondering if anyone would find it valuable to have text alerts for topics they want to monitor?

If you're managing the investment yourself, you'll definitely need to visit and handpick them, give them an idea of what you're after, and monitor them religiously.In both cases, you shouldn't have to visit the area more than once.

You would probably need to monitor the "free units" if rent rates in that area are $500 per month it is a low income area and news of a free laundrymat might bring in more laundry than you might think...  

I would just add that you can subscribe to a free credit report tracker like Credit Karma to track your score and monitor for inaccuracies. 

They will help you monitor your credit and provide you with suggestions on how to improve the score.
