Personally, I spent a year immersing myself in books, podcasts, and various resources.

While a lot of people focus on the cost it could save in commission, I feel the biggest asset is that your immersed in the field you're trying to invest into. 

Even in the peak of the pandemic, i still had to go to work every single day. one would think that i had a pretty secure job...Yesterday the owners of the company i worked at got together to review financials, and the company was tens of millions behind schedule- well today i was let go.I see this as an opportunity to finally follow my dreams in real estate. there is nothing that i want more than to immerse myself in the industry and do everything i can to be the best investor i can be.

I am an attorney and the goal is to leave the law or just move to a career where I take a paycut but have more time to immerse myself in real estate.

Understanding you have worked in self-storage, if you are really serious about learning the ins and out of owning and overseeing it, would it not behoove you to look into something like an immersion workshop?

Also shoot to give someone an “experience” versus just a rental house…high end is nice but also the mountain experience is even more important…immerse them in the area. 

Enough to where I could live for probably a year fully immersing my self in real estate.

It sounds cliche...but immerse yourself in the industry and go meet people who are doing what you want to do!
