I believe millenials *in general* are less wealthy for the following reasons: they are younger, so they haven't had time to accumulate wealth; they are coddled and pampered since they started out as the wealthiest generation in the history of this country, and thus are less likely to be needy in the first place which is a huge incentive to income generation; they value things other than money (time, the environment, experiences, etc) and are less likely to make the tradeoffs that sometimes make you choose; they grew up in an "instant" society and have no attention spans whatsoever and less inclination to postpone gratification.

The same can be said for my spouse who may demand more of our earnings to maintain an accustomed lifestyle.I make several times what David makes(W2) but with my expenses (family and location) I'm willing to bet he has more disposable $ and thus, more to invest.IF it were up to me (and my time machine worked) I would have brought the spousal unit on board years ago and likely postponed the kiddos.

You can try and work directly with the lender to see if they will postpone it but there isn't much benefit for them to do so.

My PM would require the deposit to be paid, first month, proof of utilities in their name etc prior to move inSo I would postpone the move-in date until the deposit is paid - it sounds like they have a couple days to get their requirements done or the unit goes back to the market.
