I'm a journalist working on an article about how the recent news about the head of NAR and the tough housing market right now is impacting Realtors and the Realtor industry.

There is a misconception that these laws are fostered by NAR but the reality is the STATES created laws.. then NAR became a thing to organize state laws not the other way around.. 

The one you may be thinking of is the Chicago DoJ vs NAR one that was settled.

I want to get my certification & am torn between going through NARS or Penn Foster.

The Designated Broker who accepts the legal responsibility to supervise your licensed activity is fully accountable to the State regulators for your conduct and transactions.Your Errors and Omissions coverage, advertisting, contracts, MLS membership (if the office participates in MLS), the Realtor status, NAR, state and local boardmemberships are all tied into the Designated broker. 

I'm actually excited to see the NAR being questioned about the commissions.

The whole reason for the recent NAR lawsuit is because buyers and sellers are restricted by archaic system of fees when technology is available to make the process faster and more simple.

So this "they only charge 5% a year" (when they know very well that despite NAR false claims, it costs between 15- 35% plus to 'resell' via the NAR / MLS, etc. at RETAIL, over 1- 6 months time...) makes no 'logical' business sense, whatsoever... so that then leaves only the: "wash, rinse and repeat,"OPTION!
