If you want to make a difference, go have a chat with the town manager, selectmen, town fathers and see what they think and have to say.

If our founding fathers had that attitude, this country wouldn't exist and neither would the bill of rights.

A little background on the situation is that 14 months ago I purchased a rental property with my father. 6 months ago I purchased another property with my father, brother In-law and I under and LLC.  

We have a father/son team as well as a mother/daughter team, so it is a big family affair. 

My father did well there and so can you.  

I recently received a property from my father, in agreement that I can have the property, all that is needed is for me to pay the back taxes (which is around 1-3k). 

My father has been an agent for 30+ years and he always says that he never got sued when someone was over insured, only when they were under insured.

also locks are inexpensive, my father and I change the locks every time a tenant moves out, we have a trunk full of locks with keys. we dont like to risk having someone make a key copy and come back to steal from us or the next tenants.

My mother and step mother are both licensed real estate agents, my father is a real estate investor, my aunts and grand parents all own property, so I'm not completely green to the wealth potential of REI nor the risk and horror stories that accompany it.
