Also, most banks will not allow you to "borrow" your down payment, so what you would need to do is get the 50K personal loan and then have it show on your bank statements for two months (without showing the money being deposited, so in reality this could be 3 statements before you have that.

Real estate investing in South Carolina: Worth it at 6% property tax?
4 February 2025 | 38 replies
Hi,As someone that moved from CT to SC, I will tell you property taxes here are very low, you would feel the same coming from NY. the 4% for primary and 6% for a rental, at least in Charleston County where I live, is not 50% more it is really x3 more , but still low compared to NY, so while others from SC may see it as high, you may feel it is a bargain. Not only that, being a landlord here is much easier, you actually have rights on your property, which is not really the case in NY/CT.I read your mortgage rates are in the 4's, expect to pay in the 8's right now, so unless your plan to pay cash, which, I personally am not sure I would do for an investment, many reasons for that, it is going to be very difficult to make money. if you are looking for appreciation rather than income, it may make sense.Hope this viewpoint from someone that moved a few years ago from similar place is helpful.

In fact, I would estimate that it is mostly upper middle-class folks that have the money and wherewithal to go through the vacation rental process - prepayment of substantial monies, etc.If you only have one property, I would just stick with Venmo, CashApp, or Paypal.

That data would be sales price after remodel (the true numbers some agents really don't have the experience to be comping the property), the days on market you will experience (this is great info because you want to recycle the money quickly), and resources to sell the place fast not slowly which you do not want this because this could put your holding costs extremely high and push the property to little profit or no profit.
