When you start to notice "that's a high (or low) price" for a property in that area, that's when you start to know your market.I did this with newspapers, but there's a slick way to do this with today's technology using the realtor.com app.  

Periodically there will be a news paper article about the Landbank.  

Most lien and deed info are on the county's website (Kentucky is the county clerk's office)  or you can find it in the newspaper at certain times in the year.

Actually I have read on the BP forums and other areas that the old news paper ads really dont work anymore and are not cost effective, so its interesting to hear your perspective and that they are working for you.

In a couple of our local newspapers, at the beginning of the classified sections is a small sections of odd jobbers, handymen etc,.

We have a log cabin under contract in an off-market deal, thanks to an ad we put in the newspaper a few months ago.
