This happened twice, so now if the gut says no, or there is guilty feeling or sympathy in our minds we won't rent it to that individual.

The whole system is messed up where all the sympathies and assistance are for "so called" needies....just you are a landlord you are not "wealthy".

You aren’t just asking to use the loan you are asking to be part owner of the house.Your parents have a good level of protection as the home is their primary asset and homestead so even if they have financial trouble with their (still hypothetical) mortgage, I would imagine they would have a bunch of options for workouts, forbearance and general sympathy.

I was just hoping our PM would have a little sympathy for our situation and understand that this is going to take a big chuck from our moving expenses, but she wants to follow the contract to a "T".

My sympathy goes out to the poor people of Louisiana that are suffering from the flooding - but, I'm sorry, I cannot even comprehend the comment "ghost town like Michigan"!

I don't judge people for the choices they make, but I also don't have sympathy for people who create their own problems.

If your argument is that you don't feel like subjecting yourself to overbearing licensure fees, general fees, more fees, etc from a governing body just to obtain a 'license', that's a different conversation...though I doubt you will find much sympathy in that regard either.Just do it, what do you have to lose?
