Specific for the Atlanta Housing Authority, you have to attend the landlord/property manager training session to even accept a section 8 tenant.

I know you are out of state but sometimes you can find virtual sessions that might help with insight. 

You'll be asked to step out in the hall during the general sessions for individual strategy sessions but they are more like sales sessions. 

This legislative session introduced a lot of changes besides this one.

He has a professional designer join him in a handful of the sessions and she provides some actionable recommendations  that may give you some confidence to do the design yourself.Another quick thing to look into is a subscription with a company like Minoan.

Come to the conversation more as a brainstorming session rather than an accusation. 

To gain that experience, I could go to a 3-day training session for $3000.
