You need to remember that, hopefully, this is a long-term play for you, so work with a trusted STR designer (I have great recommendations), and spend the money upfront so you can be the most successful in your area.

Remember, you are the customer.

Remember this is a marathon......That said are you planning to flip, hold(short or long term?)

Remember egress/ingress are the real big deals here, both people getting out and firemen getting in.I would pass.

Some of the best advice I got that I will forget was this:"SOME OF THE BEST DEALS, ARE THE ONES YOU DON'T GET"Let that sink in for a while...I remember 4117 s Michigan Ave. here in Chicago, it was an awesome 8 unit full gut condo conversation - I loved the deal and still belileve it would have been a great deal, but would have pinched me so thin I am not sure how I would have survived. 

Nights, weekends, holidays, etc.To keep this on-topic, though...DO figure out what's healthy for you to manage but remember it's a process where every experience teaches you good and bad (and be patient with that process).DON'T sweat the small stuff (damage/costs under $50, undisclosed dogs, etc.) but DO find a way to learn, prevent, put in better practices to maintain your sanity. 

This job took us about 9-10 months if I remember correctly.
