Usually, mid-term leases are a reasonable option for people in this profession but there are so many other professions/needs that most people probably don't target that worker specifically.  

Whether looking at new investment types or making a change in profession?

It is another job and you already said you make good W-2 income.If you are looking for more income, moonlight some hours based on your profession.

Letters involving, regarding, affecting people of non-legal profession should attach a translation to correspondence.

There is not another profession in the world, that I would not guarantee they will be millionaires by the time they are say 42 (retirement age)  using REI as the military. 

I really do try not to be resentful of all the special favors certain professions get or just resentful, period. 

As to licensing, professions you listed are all catering to public in some way.

Back in the 1970s when I first entered the real estate profession (my fellow bankers were shocked that I left international banking to work as a COMMISSIONED commercial real estate salesperson!)

There's too many people flying under the radar and having work done by people professing to be contractors, that aren't.

There's a lot of stigma around the profession of law.
